"More than ever, Siege is a target of choice for cheaters and cheat providers due to its growing popularity and competitive nature," writes Ubisoft, "This has pre-empted us to make further upgrades to our anti-cheat system." And in 2020 alone, nearly 50,000 accounts (47,898 to be exact) have been banned for cheating. In the game's fourth, and current, year, well over 70,000 players have been banned, and this is based on incomplete data so the number is likely even higher than that. In a new blog post, Ubisoft reveals that bans for cheaters have been rising since 2016. As for Rainbow Six Siege, Ubisoft introduced cheat detection software in 2016, but is now aiming to further crack down on caught cheaters throughout this year.
